Sabah Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Datuk James Ratib, conducted a working visit to SMK Simpangan to closely inspect the condition of the infrastructure and the urgent needs of the school community, especially regarding basic facilities and the welfare of educators. Among the main issues that he paid special attention to were the lack of adequate teacher accommodation facilities, as well as the limited capacity of student dormitories to accommodate current needs. During the same visit, he also inspected the proposed construction site of the temporary school for SK Simpangan which will utilize the cabin block within the SMK Simpangan area.

YB Datuk James Ratib stressed that a series of field visits like this is very critical to assess the reality of physical challenges at the location, especially in rural and interior schools that require focused interventions. The State Government through the Sabah Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (KPSTI) remains determined to channel attention and accelerate the improvement of educational infrastructure facilities to ensure the comfort of educators and the safety of students, in line with the aspiration of Sabah Maju Jaya.
