Dear virtual citizens, welcome to the Sabah Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (KPSTI) website.

The State Government is committed to transforming Sabah into a Digital Government that is advanced, competitive, progressive, innovative and resilient. In this regard, the State Government has established a new Ministry, namely the Sabah Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (KPSTI) to replace the Ministry of Education and Innovation to support the State Government's vision and mission, especially in empowering aspects of science, technology and innovation (STI).

Producing an intellectual and innovative generation through the advancement of science, ICT and highly skilled human capital by 2030 is the Vision of KPSTI. Through this ministry, the State Government will mainstream the application of science, technology and innovation (STI) to all levels to ensure that Sabah is able to achieve the status of a developed state as planned. The advancement of science and technology, the cultivation of creativity and innovation, economic development and digital infrastructure, the empowerment of elements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) as well as the provision of highly skilled human capital to support the needs of the industry in the future are the pillars of development that will be upheld.

KPSTI will emphasize the development of the State Government's ICT infrastructure. Improvements and upgrades to telecommunications infrastructure including high-speed broadband coverage to expand internet access throughout the state and minimize the digital divide will be implemented. The development of Community Internet Centers and E-Villages will further boost local economic development. This commitment is very significant to ensure that Sabah is able to face current challenges effectively and efficiently in any situation. 

KPSTI will also continue to strengthen and popularize the TVET or vocational training sector in Sabah. Efforts to produce highly skilled human capital through collaboration with TVET centres and renowned national technical universities will be intensified. The state of Sabah must have a skilled and semi-skilled talent pool in various fields to support development and industrial needs, especially industries that implement elements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). 

Various programs and approaches will be implemented by the ministry to sustain the formation of a knowledgeable and STI-literate society, boost skills development and generate job opportunities. Collaboration with several relevant ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI), the Ministry of Human Resources and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will be enhanced.

KPSTI is confident that the State Government's intention to promote STI can be realized. The programs, developments and progress of the efforts implemented by KPSTI will be shared with the virtual citizens through the KPSTI website.
